My most complimented scent ever
I’ve been waiting to feature this fragrance and am so happy I finally decided to. This is one of those fragrances that experts tell you not to share with others because you don’t want everyone copying you and smelling just like you. But I’m not a gatekeeper and love to share my favorite scents with you, and this is one that has been a regular in my collection for years. And that’s why January’s Perfume of the Month is Burberry Brit For Her.
Before I even get into the notes, I just want to point out this perfume is not a new fragrance in the slightest. Burberry Brit has been around since 2003 and still has a cult-following. In true Burberry fashion, this scent it classy, feminine, sweet but not overwhelming. Hence being the perfect everyday scent. This is actually my signature scent!
Without further ado, here’s the note breakdown:
- Top Notes: Almond, Lime and Pear
- Middle Notes: Candied Almond, Sugar and Peony
- Base Notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Amber and Mahogany
The mix of sweet, tiny bit of floral, citrus and earth notes is genius, giving this scent an overall creamy feel. It’s such a well-balanced perfume that anyone can wear. The longevity is great and the sillage is not as strong as I would like, but its also not subtle. Again, it’s not offensive so you won’t fill the room with this smell, but those near you will definitely smell this on you. Because of the prominent sweet and earthy notes, I typically wear this scent in the winter and fall.
The Burberry Brit Bottle
To be honest, there’s nothing that special about this bottle. It’s a glass square bottle adorned with Burberry’s signature tartan. However, I do think it compliments the scent well. The scent is so special on its own that it doesn’t need a flashy bottle to sell you.
You guys. I’m so serious when I say DO NOT BUY THIS AT RETAIL PRICE. Again, this fragrance has been around for almost 20 years, meaning there are wayyyyy cheaper ways to purchase. I made that mistake once, when I first discovered this fragrance. Since then, I’ve learned to look out for this at Marshall’s, Tj Maxx, or ThePerfumeSpot where you can spend a fraction of the cost. I mean the same bottle is $50 at ThePerfumeSpot vs. $106 on Burberry’s website. Let’s start the new year off spending wisely!
Do you guys love this fragrance as much as I do? Let me know in the comments! 🔥
