The Citrusy Twist on a Well-Loved Classic
Super Aquatic, Citrusy and Flirty, this month’s Perfume of the Month is one that is a regular in my collection and quickly became one of my favorites, and that is…Dolce & Gabbana’s “Light Blue Eau Intense”. I’ve gotten SO many compliments while wearing this. It smells expensive, isn’t offensive and is super daytime appropriate.
The Note Breakdown
This perfume opens up with Lemon and Granny Smith tops notes, Jasmine and Marigold heart notes and Musk and Amberwood base notes. The notes are well-balanced, making this a super clean and fresh scent in typical Dolce & Gabbana fashion. I personally love the notes in the original Light Blue fragrance, but since it’s Eau de Toilette there is very little lasting power which is what made me try out the Intense flanker. As the name suggests, it is way more intense than the original but not in an overpowering way.
What Others Say
This perfume is overall well-rated. Many people agree that it’s not too feminine of a scent and might be able to pass as unisex. It’s agreed that this scent has great lasting power and settles beautifully after a couple minutes on, unlike its older sister, the original Light Blue, that disappears quickly on skin and has a weak sillage. The apple and lemon notes are very obvious which I love for those hot summer days. Many reviewers also claimed to get complimented a lot with this fragrance. Picture an independent woman, reading a book while cruising in her yacht in sunny Positano. That’s what this smells like. What’s not to love??
